In keeping with the Riverland’s Clean and Green environment the region’s wine growers and wine producers embrace low input, organic and/or biodynamic viticulture and winemaking practices in an operating environment where performance is measured and evaluated regularly.
To achieve this, Riverland wineries work closely with Riverland wine grape growers to ensure careful management of the environmental profile. Chemicals used in vineyards are declared via spray diaries and grapes are regularly tested to ensure that only registered and approved products have been used.
The warm dry climate of the Riverland means low disease pressure exists in most years and the chemical footprint of the region's growers and wineries is low.
