Canopy Management
Canopy management or the ability to influence the balance between fruit and leaf and cane growth, and to ensure appropriate light exposure to the fruit may take many forms, and these each come with ability to mechanize, suitability in different situations, suitability to different grape varieties, and a cost of operation. There are many options including the common use of “green trimming” through to more complex operations such as leaf blowing or shoot placement with or without foliage wires.
