In late 2017, Adelaide film production company, 57 Films, spent several days in the Riverland working with regional food, wine, beer and tourism producers and promoters, capturing footage for an episode of the television series Chef Exchange.
Chef Exchange is a unique television series showcasing the best of South Australian food, wine and the regions. Produced by 57 Films in partnership with China's Qingdao TV (QTV), with support from the South Australian Film Corporation and South Australian Tourism Commission, the series is a culinary adventure featuring renowned Adelaide chef Jock Zonfrillo and Shandong chef Qu Jianmin.
In late December, the ‘Riverland’ episode was broadcast on SBS. Parts of the episode were filmed at the Loxton Research Centre, Woolshed Brewery, Headings cliffs, Kingston Estate Winery and Byrne Vineyards at Scotts Creek near Morgan. Qu Jianmin was filmed cooking with locally grown foods and wines at Loxton and on board the Woolshed houseboat.
