A cracking Tuff Nutt

These days competitive and crowded wine markets can prove to be a tough nut to crack. Especially if you are a boutique wine producer, with budget constraints, using unknown wine fruit varieties, and with a regionality that is not ‘high-brow’ in conservative wine circles.

On the flip side, nothing can stop sipping success if you have a good thing to offer.

Delinquente Wine Co have proved this to be the case, flexing their muscles with a wine that essentially defines their unique, quirky and highly entertaining brand producing a series of fabulous ‘in-your-face’ consumer friendly wines.

Enter Tuff Nutt – Bianco d’Alessano Pet Nat, an unfiltered, bottle fermented sparkling wine, made from a little known variety called Bianco d’Alessano grown in the Riverland by Sherwood Estates.

Unwittingly now the flag bearer for the Delinquente Wine Co brand, the brain child of wine maker Con-Greg Grigorio, whose family has deep roots in Riverland soil, Tuff Nutt is becoming a global phenomenon, breaking into global markets from Montreal to Melbourne, and selling out before the next batch is even in the chiller.

Good stuff? The world seems to think so. Tuff Nutt from the 2019 vintage is now sold out with the 2020 vintage just about to start.
