Most who drive around the region will have seen the massive netting infrastructures at several Apple and Citrus orchards near Loxton. Now you have an opportunity to come and find out all about these recent innovations. Winegrowers are welcome to attend a field day, convened by Citrus Australia SA and the Apple and Pear Growers Association on Tuesday, May 24 in Loxton. Held in two locations: River Corp (apples 9am–12pm) and Pyap Produce (citrus 1.30–5pm), the Field Day’ will explore the use of netting infrastructure as an innovative farming system and its impact on fruit production and water efficiency along with growing apples and citrus in the Riverland climate.
