The 2017 ASVO Innovation Seminar will be held in Mildura on Wednesday and Thursday, August 2 and 3.
The ASVO Seminar is the premier science symposium in Australia and brings together researchers, growers and consultants from around the globe, creating a forum that reflects on the wine sector’s achievements and exchange ideas to further advance the adoption of innovation to increase profitability and sustainability.
Presenters will include: Ros Harvey, The Yield Founder and Managing Director; Dr Kathy Evans, Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture, University of Tasmania; Dr Maria Paz Diago, Institute of Grapevine and Wine Sciences; and Dr Mike Briers AO, University of Technology – Sydney
Program Committee chair Brett McClen said, “The goal of the seminar is to deliver valuable, current and bankable information to our industry that can be directly translated to businesses”.
“The wine and grape industry is fast changing, complex and highly competitive, and people want the latest information, research and analysis as a way to stay competitive,” said Dr Mardi Longbottom, president of the ASVO.
“This seminar will allow delegates to network with other professionals and researchers in the industry. They will be able to take the pulse of what is happening for tools, technologies, and processes, and hear ideas they possible weren’t even aware of,” she added.
Four sessions will be held over the two-day seminar: Digital Viticulture; Technologies currently in use; Technologies/Methodologies under development; and What’s next?
