Australian Farmer of the Year

We all know someone in the agricultural community – a family member, friend, colleague or neighbour – who has made a difference? Now is the time to nominate a worthy recipient – and to tell Australia about their work and outstanding contribution to the agricultural / horticultural community.

Applications are now open for the Australian Farmer of the Year Awards supported by the Kondinin Group and ABC Rural. There are 12 award categories with the overall Australian Farmer of the Year award recipient being selected from the award category winners. The awards are judged on innovation, sustainability and contribution to the Australian agricultural sector.
In its fifth year, the profile of the Australian Farmer of the Year awards continues to grow, attracting high calibre nominations from across an expansive range of Australian agricultural interests.

In 2013 Oxford Landing Estates Winery manager Ashley Ratcliff was named the Horticultural Grower of the Year. Let’s make sure we keep the award in the Riverland!

Nominations close on Friday June 27, 2014 and forms are available on the website

People can nominate themselves, their family members or friends and associates. The winners will be announced at an award ceremony dinner in Melbourne on Wednesday 10 September.
