The quiet achievers from Byrne Vineyards, towards the Barossa end of the region, around Overland Corner and Morgan have been recognised yet again for their outstanding wines; this time at the China Wine & Spirits Awards 2016 in Hong Kong.
Marketing and Sales Manager, Shirley Fraser De Zolt says “This is great news for the region. We were delighted that our innovation in style was recognised, particularly the ‘Double Pass’ technique that takes a portion of vine dried material for inclusion in the finished product”. The following wines were honoured in Hong Kong: Byrne Double Pass Shiraz 2014 – Gold, Pairings Shiraz Grenache 2014 – Gold, Pairings Riesling Gewurztraminer 2015 – Gold and the Criminal Minds Riesling 2015 – bronze.

Rob Byrne together with daughter Petria and Rob’s brother Terry and his wife Elise form the family drive behind the business started by their parents in the 1960s.
Our region has much to be proud of and thankful. Businesses, like Byrne Vineyards, are shining bright lights into the shadows, revealing the Riverland is not only the undercarriage of the industry but a leader in vineyard innovation and sustainable best practice winemaking.
