Congratulations Scott Wall, vineyard manager for Australian Vintage, in the Riverland, who was recently announced the winner of a competition conducted by Winetitles Media. Scott won a trip to SIMEI which will be held in Italy later in the year.
The board of the Australian Women in Wine Awards (AWIWA) Advisory Board recently announced the finalists of the 2019 AWIWA. Sheridan Alm, a Loxton winegrape grower has been shortlisted in the Viticulturist of the Year category.
Sheridan, a former Chair of the Riverland Winegrape Growers’ Association, is involved in the strategic direction and management of Starrs Reach Vineyards. She is a skilled viticulturist with an integrated pest management focus and believes in empowering farmers with a strong voice and better business tools.
The AWIWA is the world’s only awards program for women in wine. The awards acknowledge and reward the work of women in the Australian wine community, and the community leaders who champion equality and fairness for all sexes in the workplace.
Sheridan continues the strong tradition of Riverland Wine women nominations in the awards, and she joins past winners and nominees Jenny Semmler, Jasmine Morgan, Nicole Pitman, Lynda Schenk, Kate Strachan and Shirley Fraser.
The winners will be announced at the 2019 AWIWA ceremony in New York next month.
