The recent season has been high pressure one for powdery mildew in particular. While options for control are limited at this stage of the season, growers would be well advised to check later ripening varieties for any signs of disease, and applying a registered fungicide such as wettable sulphur if necessary; bearing in mind WHP restrictions may apply and delay the harvest of your fruit. Contact your winery staff for more information. Care will be needed given the current high temperatures if sulphur is to be applied. Growers who have found powdery mildew this season would be well advised to analyse their spray program for the past season, and work on improving control next season.
