As mentioned in the wrap of industry meetings above biosecurity is a critical matter for all Riverland producers. Since the fruit fly outbreak in Loxton, Friday December 7, Biosecurity SA has been working around the clock with representatives from all sectors to ensure eradication is achieved by February 26 and that all growers are aware of obligations in relation to the movement of fruit.
It’s expected that within the next few days a refined set of instructions will be published. At this stage, negotiations are still proceeding around safe movement of winegrapes within the quarantine zone and/or through the zone. Stay tuned for a special bulletin.
