A number of Riverland wineries – 919 Wines, Bassham Wines, Salena Estate Wines, Spook Hill Wines and Whistling Kite Wines – will be participating at the Cellar Door Festival, held in the Adelaide Convention Centre from Friday, February 24 to Sunday, February 26.
The Gems of the Riverland’s will be revealed at a Master Class on Sunday, February 26.
Host Phil Reedman, Global Master of Wine, will present wines that demonstrate the Riverland’s diversity, complexity and innovation in the alternative wine styles produced. The wines will be paired with Riverland produce, provided by Illalangi.
The featured wines will be: Byrne Vineyards –Antiquarian Rare Field White, Bassham Wines – 2014 Petit Manseng; Caudo Vineyard – 2014 Single Vineyard Tempranillo ‘Ola’; Mallee Estate – 2013 Reserve Tempranillo; 919 Wines – 2013 ‘Reserve Collection’ Durif; and Whistling Kite – 2014 Montepulciano.
Along with the Master Classes, other events at the festival will include: Long Table feasts hosted by food and wine identities; Flavours of the Feast Demo stage; and Meet the Maker Sessions – involving 919 Wines on Sunday.
