Jo delighted some interstate visitors by taking them along to Magic on the Murray at Whistling Kite’s Cellar Door last Saturday.
Her guests from Canberra experienced the Riverland at its best – relaxing in the glorious sun on the Whistling Kite lawn, enjoying local produce and wine to live music from Terril while overlooking an amazing river view. They were particularly interested to learn about Whistling Kite’s Biodynamic farming practices that embrace the concept of true sustainability, and sample some of their award winning wines.
The ploughman’s lunch and cheese platters presented great value for money, showcasing local goodies such as olives, dukkha, olive oil, fresh bread, crispbread, cured meats, chutney and fresh fruit and vegetables together with host Pam Barich’s stunning Shiraz jam.
Whistling Kite Wines was founded in order to demonstrate the outstanding results possible through Biodynamic farming practices and that through careful variety selection and sustainable farming practices, the Riverland is capable of producing wines of exceptional quality.
If you’re entertaining visitors to the region check the Whistling Kite Facebook page for further Magic on the Murray events and take the opportunity to promote Riverland wine to your guests. Jo’s Canberra visitors purchased wines they hadn’t previously heard of from both Whistling Kite and the 919 Wines Cellar Door and will now spread the word about some of the outstanding wine the Riverland has to offer.
