The first two weeks of 2020 have been flat chat for most growers and winemakers as preparations continue towards an uncertain harvest; uncertain because of the unknowns with very few price offers finalised and yield predictions all over the place, partly due to recent hot weather but more so because of the stress and strain over water. Imagine if we didn’t have 100%. That’s very much on the cards for 2020.
Meetings are always a bit of a drag but they are also necessary for exchanges of information and opinion. As mentioned last week, four meetings will be convened next week for members to come and hear the latest intel on prices, water, strategies for the next few years, some of the exciting R & D projects we’ve got going and anything else anyone wants to bring up. Details will be advertised in the local papers this week and emails will be sent to members but, to get the dates and places in your minds and diaries:
