The $265 million SARMS program (SA River Murray Sustainability Program) provides a once in a lifetime opportunity. The program will enable our community to work together to improve returns and economic wealth, ensure our environment is taken care of in the long term and provide broader benefits to our entire community.
You too can nominate to join the CIERG (Community and Industry Engagement Reference Group), which will have a prominent and valued role in supporting SARMS. The CIERG will provide practical feedback on community and industry challenges in SARMS delivery, and provide insight and intelligence on community and industry reaction to any change to the delivery or strategic direction of SARMS. CIERG will also be a referral body for matters that arise in the course of implementing the SARMS program.
The call for nominations to the CIERG closes on 24 June 2014. An independent Chair and eight members will be appointed to voluntary positions on the CIERG for up to two years. CIERG areas of focus will include irrigation, water markets, water policy, primary industries, Aboriginal regional community development, community, local government, finance and regional economic development.
For further information on the CIERG, or to complete a nomination form, go to the SARMS-3IP website or phone 1300 364322.
