What a weekend

The 17th annual Riverland Wine & Food Festival came alive on the Berri Riverfront on Saturday October 12 thanks to Riverland Wine, Berri Barmera Council and Berri Hotel and what a celebration it was.

Over 2,300 patrons passed through the gates and spent a perfect spring afternoon enjoying Riverland wine and food from 17 vendors, with live entertainment from acoustic trio All About Her and DJ Jaki J.

This year returning crowd favourites included Woolshed Brewery with their beer, cider and hard lemonade; 23rd Street Distillery with their gin and vodka; and Kingston Estate Wines pouring their Riverland wines from a new-look stall.

New to the RWFF was Salena Estate. Their Frozé (frozen rosé) was a hit and patrons were treated to a preview of their new restaurant Cucina 837 with authentic Italian dishes including spaghetti meatballs and Sicilian cannoli.

Riverland police were reportedly impressed with patrons’ behaviour – which was to have a good time and enjoy the atmosphere.

Many patrons took advantage of the free courtesy buses provided by Riverland Councils travelling to and from the RWFF safely. Designated drivers were looked after thanks to the RAA.

A big thank you to Riverland Gymnastics Academy volunteers for their marvellous assistance throughout the day.

The RWFF was again a true opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate food, wine, and the Murray River. We can’t wait to do it all again next year. See you there!
