Challenges and opportunities will not be in short supply for our wine industry members in 2014. There will no doubt be many reasons and occasions for celebration.
Whilst we love to share stories of our industry’s shining stars, it is also important to celebrate the “hidden gems” those that so often go un-noticed; the “wind beneath our wings”. So often, it’s the ladies who work tirelessly behind scenes, the quite achievers that have inspirational and moving stories to tell. On close inspection it seems that behind every great wine, is a great woman – hence the introduction of Women who Wine – Riverland Style.
WwW – Riverland Style will be a series of articles published in the Roundup that celebrate Riverland women in the wine industry. From grape growers to wine makers to bookkeepers, we want to share their fabulous stories. Most often, these unassuming ladies prefer to avoid the limelight. To start the conversation, we need your help. Do you know of a lady who through dedication, passion and hard work has helped make the Riverland wine industry what is it today? Are you a wine grape grower whose wife is the backbone of your business? Has your mother or grandmother been the person who inspired your life of growing wine grapes? Does your employee proudly advocate Riverland Wine at your cellar door or restaurant? If so please contact Julie on firstname.lastname@example.org. With their permission and your input, we will share their inspirational stories through Women who Wine – Riverland Style.
