Are you a Young Gun of Wine? The Oxford Dictionary definition of a Young Gun is: “a young man regarded as assertive and aggressively self-confident”. Other more contemporary dictionary descriptions are: “an assertive and self-confident young person” (21st Century Lexicon) or “a young person who is successful or who is expected to be successful” (Merriam-Webster).
These more modern definitions coincide with the people from the Young Guns of Wines whose definition of a young gun is not about date of birth, it’s about spirit of being young at heart.
Registrations are now open for the 2018 Young Gun of Wine, designed to find, showcase and celebrate Australia’s young and emerging winemakers.
If you are a winemaker who is “young at heart”, then be sure to enter the Young Guns of Wine before Friday, August 11.
Winemakers who have previously entered are welcome to enter again. Michael Downer of Murdoch Hill participated in 2014, 2015, 2016 before being anointed 2017 Young Gun of Wine.
